Raquel Felgueiras has a degree in Fine Arts – Painting by the University of Porto, a Post-graduation in Drawing by the University of Lisbon and a MA in Animation by the University of the West of England. As a result of her MA she produced her first short animated film “White” which has been selected for several international animation festivals ans awarded with the “Young Portuguese Director” prize at CINANIMA 2012. She has worked as a freelance illustrator and animator for the past few years and alongside has been exhibiting her Fine Art work, which includes drawing and video, both in Portugal and in the UK.

Short animated film produced in the scope of the project Cultural Encounters in Intervention Against Violence – CEINAV, FPCEUP, with the support of Cineclube de Avanca and Filmógrafo. The film has been awarded with the “Best short film” prize in the Avanca Competition at Avanca 2016 Film Festival. It has also been selected for Cinanima 2016, Caminhos do Cinema Português 2016 and Cinecôa Film Festival 2016.

The film has been awarded with the “Young Portuguese Director” prize at Cinanima Festival, Portugal, 2012. Also selected for: Libelula Festival 2012 (Lloret del Mar, Spain); Monstra Festival 2013 (Lisbon, Portugal); Be There! Festival 2013 (Corfu, Greece) and Baixada Animada (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).In 2013 the film was also screened at: Espaço Nimas, Lisbon; Fundação José Saramago, Lisbon; Ianos bookstore, Athens.
